I’ve been into tech ever since I was introduced to computers when I was about 9 years old. Boy did technology change since 1986. The first computer I was introduced to was an IBM PC. The monitor had only 4 colours (the term back then was CGA graphics) . The processor was an Intel 8088 or 80286 (can’t remember) with speeds of 8Mhz/12Mhz. That was super fast back then! I had great fun playing games (hey, what else can you do if you’re 9 years old?) like Digger, Alley Cat, King’s Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest, and many other classic games.

The way we played back them was by loading MS-DOS first using floppy disk, and then at the A:/ prompt key-in some command like digger.com or run.exe or some extinct commands unfamiliar to those brought up in today’s point-and-click world. While the program was loading, you’d hear some angry, grinding noises from the floppy disk drive. Sometimes you have to swap disks multiple times. Sometimes the disks won’t work and you have to start all over again. Ahh, those were the days I tell you.
See if you can remember some of the games below:
What was the first computer you’ve ever used? What games did you play?
