Just a short post today. Was scanning the Billboard 100 chart and The Hanging Tree by Jennifer Lawrence shot up to number 8! Wow, it came from nowhere. Anyways, remember when I was raving about the song in my review of Hunger Games Mockingjay? Good to see that it’s going up the charts. Jennifer Lawrence has that earthy, raspy voice that makes the song strangely haunting. Plus, having James Newton Howard as the composer leading the orchestra is icing on the cake.

Not many people will like this type of song, but give it a listen. To appreciate it more, watch the film.
