Atlas Gourmet Market

Can’t believe it’s already our 14th year wedding anniversary. (Yay us!) This time we celebrated by having a simple lunch at the newest place in KL, Atlas Gourmet Market.

Atlas is located at the lower ground floor of the Robinson’s mall next to KLCC. The same building will soon house the Four Seasons hotel (not sure when it will open though, maybe July 1st). Atlas was opened during Ramadhan, but we couldn’t eat there for obvious reasons. Now that Ramadhan is over, we can finally try it.

There are a few restaurants at Atlas Gourmet Market. For our first visit, we tried the pizzeria section. The staffs were friendly and we were seated in no time. After mulling over the menu for awhile, we decided on the Tomato Bruschetta and Atlas Mediterranean Hummus for appetisers, and the ‘Killing Me Softly’ pizza for the main dish.

A word of caution: We were already full after having the appetisers. We had to force ourselves to finish the pizza.

Our Verdict: The bruschetta was wonderfully light and refreshing. Not sourish and soggy at all. Loved the taste. As for the hummus, it was a easy to eat, especially when you fill the pita pockets with hummus, olives and feta cheese. Great combo! As for the ‘Killing Me Softly’ pizza, this is the first time ever we had soft shell crab on a pizza! The dough was light and fluffy (not tough and chewy at all) and the crabs were nice and juicy. Unfortunately, we were already stuffed by the time the pizza arrived. Maybe next time we’ll just order only the pizza?
