Bites

Experts always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We couldn’t agree more. (When it comes to food, we always agree ;)) But let’s not forget lunch, dinner, supper and the in-between snack times. Those meal times are important too, and cannot be neglected. (This philosophy is the reason why our weights refuse to go down… hehehe)

In strict adherence to our BGCB ‘foodology philosophy’, this time we had the chance to sample the delicious breakfast dishes, meal dishes, and desserts at a restaurant call Bites at Lake Fields, Sungai Besi. The interesting thing about Bites is that the owner, Robin, is a globe-trotter and has sampled dishes from all around the world. His idea is to share his culinary experiences to Malaysians, and tada! Bites was born!

We had the honour of tasting their main dishes on offer at Bites. (We made sure to come with elastic-waisted pants, just in case) Check out the  yummy offerings from Bites kitchen:

Eggs Benedict

IMG_5620The Eggs Benedict is nicely done with smoked salmon, sauteed spinach, and button mushrooms. We love it cuz the bread was not soggy!

The French

IMG_5628

The French is a couple of golden brown french toast served with maple syrup. The interesting thing is that it has a sunny-side up egg on top of the toast. (Maple syrup on egg is a unique acquired taste!)

The Italian

IMG_5632

The Italian is a fritatta with 4 eggs fried with vegetables. Totally yummy when the fried egg is then baked with tomato sauce and cheese on top. Must try!

The Mexican

IMG_5646

The Italian is a wrap with chicken salami, scrambled eggs, mushroom and melted cheese. Just look at it! Beautifully done! CheeseBoy’s favourite!

The Breakfast Pizza

IMG_5639

The Breakfast Pizza is a total breakfast served on a crispy thin crust. Baked beans, beef bacon, mushroom, spinach and melted cheese, topped with sunny side-up egg.

Potato Salad

Can’t miss the potato salad! Perfectly soft potatoes mixed with mayo, chives and beef bacon bits.

Club Sandwich Waffle

IMG_5658

Those who like sandwiches can try the Club Sandwich Waffle! It’s a club sandwich cleverly packed between waffles, instead of normal toasted bread.

Grilled Chicken & Waffle Sandwich

Juicily grilled chicken drowned in mushroom sauce, with eggs, cheese and waffles!

Grilled Salmon Fillet on Crispy Potato Cake

Salmon aficionados can try out this dish. Perfectly cooked salmon with asparagus and Bites home made sauce! Delicious!

Beef Bacon & Shrimp Pasta

Pasta lovers can try out the Beef Bacon & Shrimp Pasta!

And let’s not forget the desserts….

Affogato with Pandan Kaya Ice Cream

IMG_7563

The pandan kaya ice cream is naturally delicious being from The Last Polka. However, Bites made a special twist giving a shot of espresso to be mixed with the ice cream. It made the dessert bitter, yet sweet. Delish!

Waffle with Gula Melaka Ice Cream

IMG_5675

Belacan Girl’s favourite dessert! She just loves the Gula Melaka ice cream served on creamy waffles.

Berries & Bananas Pancake

IMG_5683

This is a uniquely sweet dessert with Nutella generously spread on a thin crust, topped with fresh strawberries and sliced bananas. Good to have when you’re in a big group.

All you adventurous foodies please make sure to stop by Bites! It’ll be worth the trip! Here’s the info…
