There were many, many circumstances when I thought my world is falling apart, or I felt like the whole world is against me when I didn’t get or achieve something that I wanted. (Don’t worry guys, it’s not something I’m proud of.) But yeah, I am pretty much a determined and persuasive person should I really want something.

Alhamdullillah, as I grow older (and hopefully wiser), I no longer react in the same manner. I’ve learned to face the fact that what I want, may not necessarily what Allah wants for me. Who am I to challenge Him, right? He knows what is the best for each of us. As long as we work hard  towards achieving what we want and continue to pray to Him, Insya’Allah everything is going to turn up fine.

Seriously, sometimes I sit down and think back (kira muhasabah diri la ni) I’m sure glad that certain things didn’t turn out the way I wanted them to be. And something that I really wanted (and I got it) was really, really bad for me. Masya’Allah to think back, Allah is really Most Great!

CheeseBoy showed to me the Quran verse below, I personally thinks it suits my ramblings above.

كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْقِتَالُ وَهُوَ كُرْهٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَىٰ أَن تَكْرَهُوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَىٰ أَن تُحِبُّوا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَّكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Kamu diwajibkan berperang (untuk menentang pencerobohan) sedang peperangan itu ialah perkara yang kamu benci; dan boleh jadi kamu benci kepada sesuatu padahal ia baik bagi kamu, dan boleh jadi kamu suka kepada sesuatu padahal ia buruk bagi kamu. Dan (ingatlah), Allah jualah Yang mengetahui (semuanya itu), sedang kamu tidak mengetahuinya

Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.

(Al-Baqarah 2:216)

We have to accept what is fated for us. We are merely acting upon God’s Script, and He knows what’s best. Always. Remembering this will give much peace and tranquility when the going gets tough, and during times of easy going.
